There are two varieties of thyme oil. They are sweet thyme essential oil and red thyme essential oil. Red thyme oil is amber colored with a very spicy aroma. Sweet thyme oil is pale yellow in color with a very strong sweet smell. The content of thymol in thyme essential oil is 20-54%.
