About Suramin
Suramin is mainly used in the treatment of african trypanosomiasis and onchocerciasis. In the 1980s, some scholars discovered that suramin can inhibit the reverse transcriptase activity related to tumor viruses, and applied suramin to the treatment of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), show that suramin has a certain inhibitory effect on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Suramin has been proven to have the functions of anti-trypanosomiasis, anti-tumor, prevention and treatment of ocular proliferative diseases, anti-virus, and immunomodulator, and is widely used in clinical practice. There is no report that suramin has an anti-coccidia effect on chickens, and it is impossible to deduce whether it has an anti-coccidia effect on chickens through the known properties of suramin. Suramin is a hepatitis C virus NS3 helicase inhibitor. It is also used to treat arthritis caused by collagen problems.
