About Rifampicin
Rifampicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic drug that has strong antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and is also effective against Gram-positive or negative bacteria and viruses. It is a red or dark red crystalline powder and is insoluble in water. Oral drugs, usually in capsules or tablets, work synergistically with other anti-tuberculosis drugs and delay the production of resistant strains. Mainly used to treat tuberculosis, meningitis and Staphylococcus aureus infections.
