Product Description:
Commonly known as Flame vine, orange trumpet vine or Golden showers Pyrostegia venusta is a vibrant showy flowering climber from late winter till mid spring. It grows well in temperate regions if given a sunny position protected from all but light frosts.
Large heads of orange yellow trumpets lie against a background of dark green leaves. The mature flowers are 60mm long and curl back at the ends. Pyrostegia is a tendril climber and grows sideways or upwards, rarely outwards so is perfect if space is a problem. Grow on fences and pergolas. I like to see it grown on low structures as the flowers drape beautifully and are well appreciated at eye level. Prune annually in spring when frosts have finished .Cut back old flowering shoots to the main stems.Plant this climber in late spring to establish a good framework of stems before next winter.
