What does OLIGOPEPTIDE-2 do in a formulation?
- Skin conditioning
So how does this oligopeptide-2 work on the skin?
What plays an important supporting role in our skin is the DEJ layer, also known as the basement membrane. The basement membrane tightly connects our dermis with the epidermis, while various collagens in the DEJ layer are transported to the epidermis to make the skin elastic. But as we grow older, the DEJ layer ages, producing less and less collagen, which can no longer support the skin, and the skin will appear wrinkled and loose.
Oligopeptide-2 acts on dermal fibroblasts to promote the synthesis of macromolecular substances such as collagen types I, III, and IV, fibronectin, and glycosaminoglycans, repairing and rebuilding the extracellular matrix and the epidermis-dermis junction ( DEJ), to solve wrinkle problem and improve skin appearance from deep in the skin. At the same time, oligopeptide-2 can also promote the expression of wound repair genes, which is beneficial to the recovery of skin tissue.
