About Niclosamide
Niclosamide is an antihelminthic drug with anthelmintic and potential antineoplastic activity, used to treat parasitic infections in millions of people worldwide. However recent studies have indicated that niclosamide may have broad clinical applications for the treatment of diseases other than those caused by parasites.
Niclosamide is highly effective against a wide variety of intestinal tapeworms but not against tissue cestodes, such as echinococcosis or cysticercosis.
It may help treat infections such as beef tapeworm, dwarf tapeworm, and broad tapeworm infections, as well as other types of tapeworms. This medicine will not be effective for all types of parasitic infections, such as roundworms or pinworms. Niclosamide is an anthelmintic that kills the tapeworms as soon as it comes into contact with them.
