About Lanosterol
Lanosterol exists in the unsaponifiable matter of lanolin and is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of cholesterol.
Lanosterol has a variety of important biological activities and a wide range of pharmacological effects, such as anti-cancer, lowering blood pressure, treating leukemia, lowering blood sugar, and alleviating cataract conditions in experimental animals. Lanosterol prevents the intracellular aggregation of various cataract-causing mutated lens proteins and prevents cataract formation.
