Description:
Cinnamon Oil is distilled from the bark of a tropical evergreen tree native to Sri Lanka. The oil is a light brown liquid with a sweet, warm-spicy, dry powerful aroma. Cinnamon oil is considered a warming remedy, stimulating digestion and circulation, while supporting the immune system and relieving aches and pains.
Cinnamon contains the constituent, cinnamaldehyde, found in the volatile oil fraction of the plant. Cinnamaldehyde has potent antioxidant actions, protecting cells from oxidative damage, and supporting healthy fat and cholesterol balance within the normal range.
Cinnamon Leaf Oil – This one is steam distilled from the leaves of cinnamon. This is yellowish in color.
Cinnamon Bark Oil – This is steam distilled from the bark of cinnamon. It is slightly reddish in color with a hint of brown.
Both of these essential oils have some differences in their chemical composition, obviously because they come from different parts of the same plant. However, their health benefits can be quite similar.
