Product Info:Green Peas Powder (Pisum Sativum) is from the legume family. The Green Pea Powder comes from the whole dried green pea. The Green Pea Powder is pale green in color and has a mild flavor and creamy texture, similar to the lentil in versatility and nourishment. Whole dried peas have a history going back some 10,000 years. Originally from the Middle East, peas soon spread through the Mediterranean region and on to India and China. The cultivation of peas in Europe helped to stave off famine in England in 1555. Peas are most commonly used in their split form. Whole Green Peas are an acceptable substitute for fresh peas; their flavor is a bit earthier though.
Suggested Use:Green Pea Powder is traditionally used to thicken soups and stews. Green Pea Powder can also be used to make dips and spreads or they can be included with other ingredients in baked casserole or stuffings.
