Description About Phellodendron Bark Extract
Amur Cork tree is the dried bark of Phellodendron chinense Schneid. or Phellodend ron amurense Rupr.(Fam. Rutaceae). The former is commonly called “Chuan huangbai” and the latter “Guan huangbai”.
The main ingredient of Phellodendron Bark Extract is berberine. Used as a bittering agent. It has antimicrobial and protozoan, antihypertensive, anti-adrenaline-like effects, relaxes vascular smooth muscle, excites the uterus, bladder, bronchus, gastrointestinal tract, choleretic and excites the cerebral cortex.
